So, I think the one thing I miss most at the moment are museums + gallery spaces at local colleges. I mean- Iâd love a haircut too, but Iâm guessing everyone does. . This #flashbackfriday post goes way back to 2011 and the first show I saw from #OlafurEliasson whoâs become one of my favorite artists ever since. A few years after this show I was able to attend a (free!) lecture by him over at MIT on the subject of art making & some of his studio practices. . The exhibit here was at Harvardâs Gund Hall and was a complete surprise. It was a cold miserable rainy day and I mostly popped my head in to stay dry. Part of three installations about Danteâs Divine Comedy there were also other pieces by Ai Wei Wei & Tomas Sarceno on campus. . Eliassonâs âThree to Nowâ presented 54 âexperiment-machinesâ such as Cosmic Mirror and Liquid Matter Life Study that challenged viewers sense of seeing and how the mind perceived the real world. I just remember it as an immersive phantasmagoric experience with mirrors and globes and an array of lighting that was so warm and mesmerizing on that drizzly day. . Anyway- I miss thought provoking surprises like this. Restaurants too. And hiking. And haircuts. I guess I miss a lot of things. #museumstagram #artstagram #gundgallery #harvard #ffa_travelingwithoutmoving (at Gund Hall, Harvard University) https://www.instagram.com/p/CAOdbYEFmNr/?igshid=dhmdb17iapdm
