That was something that Alhaitham was used to hearingâhe was busy on the couch where he was reading. He let out a small exhale in exasperation before he put his bookmark in, getting up after placing it on the coffee table.
There wasnât really a way for him to predict what exactly Kaveh could need. There was simply too many options and not that he wasnât capable, but sometimes his boyfriend struggled withâŚÂ confidence? He was more than capable of doing whatever it was on his own and instead needed someoneâs reassuring presenceâusually him.
âWhat? Do you need me to measure a doorway for you? Again?â Alhaitham called out into the house that the two shared, searching around for where exactly the architect was. That was often harder than people would imagine because for all Alhaitham knewâhe could have gotten stuck in the floorboards.
While that was an exaggeration and never truly happenedâthe two had gone through enough oddities of each other to know that anything was possible.

âIs the cake almost ready?â Peach asked one of her Toad servants as she gave herself a once-over in the mirror. âAlmost, my Lady. Itâs got a few more minutes to cool, then we can dress it with the icing you made, and have it out in time before you and your....guest..have finished the sandwiches.â Peach nodded. âVery well. Youâre dismissed.â Her blue eyes shined back at her in the reflection of the mirror. She wore a different dress than her usual ballgown, though it was the same shade of pink. This one hugged her legs a little more like a skirt, and had shoulder straps. It also ended just above her knees, giving off a formal-casual mix of a vibe. Her hair was done up in a ponytail and she wore no gloves. Her heels were less raised, more casual. In all, she felt she looked good for todayâs schedule. She was going to sit down at a private, one on one tea party with Bowser, the King of the Koopa Kingdom. She offered him a chance for a peace talk. This was more or less, a test. Could the Koopa King resist swiping her up or attacking her castle long enough to discuss a potential peace between his kingdom and hers? She wondered. âMaâam, heâs here.â Called a servant at her door. âWonderful. Iâll be right down.â With that, she made her way to the main throne room, expecting Bowser to be waiting for her. She hoped this went well. Despite all the times Bowser had kidnapped her, she never really felt hate for the Koopa King. She wanted to make things work.
