Music

As for music, I’ve been listening to a lot of older artists from different decades. I’ve been really into Aretha Franklin, Paul Anka, The Beatles, Prince, Bill Withers, Whitney Houston, and The Beach Boys. All of these different voices from different periods of fashion, music, and art are so captivating and are recent favorites of mine.

In addition to all these older artists, I’ve been into summer-y songs as we grasp onto these last fleeting moments of laughter and good weather. Such artists include Peach Pit, Rex Orange County, and Summer Salt.

TV and movies

For T.V., I’ve been loving SKAM. I watched it about a year ago and I’m still obsessing. SKAM is a Norwegian show falling group of friends as they navigate through real-life issues as well as high school. Each season focuses on a different member of the friend group; season one on Eva as she deals with loneliness and bullying, season two on Noora as she struggles with drugs and rape, season three on Isak discovering his sexuality, and last, but on least, season four puts a spotlight on Sana, a Muslim in a environment hostile towards Islam. At the end of each season, every character gets a monologue on what they learned and its so raw and real. The characters are all absolute badasses and have fashion senses I look up to. None of the SKAM remakes come close to the original.

Next on my TV and movies list is Harry Potter. Every year around July-August, I reread the Harry Potter books and have a Harry Potter movie marathon. The books are honestly magical; in the seven years since I first discovered them, I’ve never once gotten bored with them.

FASHION

My current huge fashion favorite is my Gucci backpack! It’s the perfect casual and useful accessory for almost any outfit. I use it more than any other bag or purse. It looks small on the outside, but the inside usually firs my phone, camera, wallet, a pack of tissues, and any other small amenities I deem necessary for the day.

My next fashion favorite is rings and bracelets! As you can see, I’ve been super into accessories the lately. Rings are classy and usually super cheap. I went to Morocco this summer and came back with a huge assortment of gold and faux gold rings that I’ve been wearing like theres no tomorrow.

I’ve been so into using my camera. I bought my Canon Rebel t6 a while ago, but I never really used it much, and felt that I needed fancy accessories for a photo shoot. On my trip in Morocco (post about that soon!), however, I got a lot of use out of it, realizing the beauty in everyday life is what photography and art are about.
