Years ago I started from seed a number of Campanula americana. This 3-4 foot tall native perennial is supposed to be frequent in the mountains of North Carolina and rare at the lower elevations and reported to be a difficult plant to perennialize. I have not found it a challenge to overwinter and return.. I planted the plants in my friends, now neighbors, yard. They have been growing so well here. The blue as well as the shape of the flower is beautiful to me. I took seeds from last years plants and am growing them on my land now. Excited to see how they do.
