INTER-HOUSE COOPERATIVE COMPETITIONS
basis: in an effort to build teamwork, the houses join forces over a month-long competition to see which team will come out the victors. the winning team is determined by who has the most points by the end of the four weeks*. matches are held throughout the month, with points building on top of prior matches. teams are paired via random drawing at the beginning of each month/four week period. team planning and tactics are encouraged between matches, and they could very well be rewarded as well.
* some competitions won’t last the full time.
CAPTURE THE FLAG
capture the flag is a cooperative team sport held at olympus for the demigods to get real-world practice while building and developing bonds with their peers. the purpose is to foster cooperation and teamwork that can be easily applied when they’re out in the real world.
each house will be placed on either TEAM A or TEAM B, which is decided randomly at the start of the competition.
once teams are chosen, they will be invited to a PRIVATE server, where they can strategize their game plan. they will have two twenty-four (24) hour periods to determine where they hide their team’s flag, how they plan to defend it, and who will be assaulting the other team. these decisions will have repercussions throughout the competition, as the DM will request appropriate rolls for traps, defenses, scouting expeditions, etc.
winning teams are determined based on allocation of POINTS. these points are given out for major events throughout the competition, and will be given and allocated in secret by the DM. this will hopefully encourage players to portray what their character can see around them, while mitigating metagaming to the fullest that can be achieved.
we HIGHLY encourage creative freedom in this competition! if your character can think of something that COULD help the group, please go for it! creatively, thinking outside the box, and manipulating your characters’ kits to fit the scenarios at hand WILL BE REWARDED.
