Aki had to know that whatever decent mood Hamathiel found himself in would be muted by the statement. It was an innocent one. As harmless as they came, frankly. A flare of annoyance over the cheekily grinning botanist’s hypocrisy was hard to tamp down even so, let alone the subconscious, curt creases that began to overtake Hamathiel’s expression in the moments to come.

Without fail, calloused fingertips and dirt hemmed nails rose to forcibly push in opposition against the arcanist’s sobering mood.

“See? Beautiful.”

“Ahhki, thish ishn’–”

A pointed shove against the corners of his mouth garnered an unguarded wince from Hamathiel, Aki all the while seeming to enjoy making smiley putty out of his progressively aching features. His nostrils flared with a far too audible sigh. Despite his obvious aversion to the situation, he nevertheless does not see to batting Aki away outright.

“Ahll righ’, fihe. Yesh, hyou’re righ’. Nohw stah’, pleahe?”

There was no understating the self righteously smug air that settled in around the blond straight after that admittance. Appeased for the time being, he does actually see to leaving him be after a second’s more of distorting discolored flesh.

“Now that was not so hard to admit, was it? Your ability to make the simplest of interactions overly difficult will forever astound me.”

Hamathiel seethed over lobbing a biting retelling of pot meet kettle straight at that shit eating grin presented before him, but the sudden ache of his cheeks convinced him to keep his peace instead. Aki got no more than a hum of begrudged acceptance for the time being, now peeved spellcaster set to return to his books posthaste. He would deal with the other man’s immature behavior some time later.

He is finally home. I know I should not bother him given how quickly he retreated to the furs last night. The fact he is finally getting a decent sleep and has yet to wake is proof enough of just how tired he is, but after all the mornings he has seen to making breakfast for me? The least I can do is make something for him after the week he had.
