But I’m really excited to go. Not only for my sister but also cus I kinda wanna use it as an excuse to talk to some of my old teachers again. Her current teacher was also the last teacher I had in primary school and it’d be nice to catch up with him. Plus maybe I’ll get a chance to chat with some of the other teachers who are still there.

but I’m doing environmental social justice work with incredibly passionate people, I’m going to be living the dream in the Rocky Mountains all summer, I’ve been traveling a lot, and my love life is exactly how I want it.

And I don't know whether I should be proud or not. It used to be that when I got surprised but someone hugging me or even touching me I would automatically react violently, terrified that if I didn't fight fast enough I'd end up getting hurt or kidnapped or something along that lines. It was my way of making sure that I could defend myself and so I would only defend myself. Last night my local friendly bartender hugged me from behind and I simply clung fiercely to his arms until I realized who it was and then I relaxed but didn't let go of his arms. I did scream, but I didn't try and fight. Now I don't know if this is because my head finally figured out that I don't need to be ready to fight every minute of the day or if I have just gotten to the point that if someone attacks me, I'll deal with it after they've tried attacking. Maybe I've gotten over my fear of being attacked. That's a good thing I think. Either way my reaction made him laugh and he asked for a proper hug because he felt bad that I had screamed. At least I am still helping people laugh.
