Some rest and a couple of runs of varying distances in the past 3 days. Took a needed rest day on Friday, went on a long 12 mile group run on Sat, and rounded out the weekend with a relaxed 8 miler this St Paddy’s afternoon. The 12 miler wore me out, as even after Friday’s rest, the legs didn’t feel recovered. The cold windy morning added to the struggle as half the way seemed directly into the wind in the clear farmland we were running in. The group pulled me through. Took a much needed nap at home afterwards. Today’s 8 felt easier, pleasant.
I had a great time at the all paces run last night. There were probably 40 people there and I got a free pair of socks, and got to demo some new shoes.
Last nights beautiful group run through the countryside and along the river,5.5k of English countryside,I guess I am pretty lucky to live where I do and have all this on my doorstep.
Helloooo friends! Back to my regularly scheduled updates! I took last week to just have a break from normal training and do whatever. It was nice! But now we back! Tuesday I went to run club and we did an interval run! Since it was super hot again, we went to a shaded part of the trail and did loops around a tree that’s in the middle of the path. The goal was to run fast to the tree and then recover coming back. It was about a third of a mile did that 10 times! I think my watch was struggling with gps because my friends ran over a half mile more than me and we ran the same workout 🤷🏼♀️ but it was a good workout and I wanted to quit early a bunch of times but didn’t so I felt very good at the end! And last night I went to my group ride and had such a good ride 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 the weather was so perfect and I just felt really good the whole time! Didn’t get dropped and was able to keep up the whole time and it was just great. So nice to have a good group ride again, it was so fun 😃🚴🏼♀️ And this morning I got up for a swim! I haven’t gotten up early in a while so I am a little extra sleep today. But I did 1,000 yards doing intervals of 200 yards. This time around I want to focus more on longer intervals and getting used to those. I figure I should get used to swimming distances and then once that’s better work on getting faster. Overall good swim though! 🏊🏻♀️ And that’s what I’ve been up to! Hope everyone is having good weeks!

Good morning! Whenever I spend the weekend at my sister's, I get an 8 mile run and brunch at my favorite cafe. I drive into town and park a car, run 4 miles back to my sister's, wake her and my mother up, then we run the 4 miles back together and can drive home after. In a nutshell- I get 4 fast miles, 4 slow miles, and the best damn veggie frittata in the state. Lovely morning!
Group Run
Group run used to be everyone going at the pace of the slowest person... tonight it turned into descending every mile to see how long it would take to drop me.... haha in all seriousness it was fun to see that I can still run almost sub 8 minute miles after only working out for 2 weeks. Started out at 9:20 pace for mile 1 and mile 6 was 8:05 pace. Mile 7 would have been about 8:20 pace but I only got .89 into it.
