I was completing the Performer side quest in Witherwood when I happened upon the Killer Scorpion enemy. They have a special ability called pheromone where they spawn another one of themselves. The more they spawn and the more your defeat, the higher your exp payout will be. So, I decided to experiment with different ways to take advantage of the autobattle system to grind exp and take advantage of this situation. Before I set up my autobattle settings, I went as deep as I could to take advantage of the single move bonus you can accumulate (I think I got to 1.8x earnings). At the time of me writing this post, I have been in battle for close to an hour. I will report back when my patience has run out with the final results of my battle winnings.
