I was a "Garbage Man" - I was sent out thousands of miles away from home, unable to see my own family for weeks, out where I could suffer thousands of potential brutal deaths. They called people like myself Boatswain's Mates. Garbage men are important, but don't shit on the armed forces.
That definitely wasnāt my intention and not how I read the post. I certainly didnāt take it as insulting the armed forces myself, though I can see how it can be read that way. I read it asĀ āhey this job is dangerous too but these people donāt get celebrated in the same way.ā I didnāt feel it was meant to diminish the contributions that people in the armed forces make, so I apologize for not seeing it from that potential angle.
