Life Update 3 Car has been towed away today, and...

I’m also in a ‘need new car’ spot. I’m sorry to hear you’re having it so rough. Do you have a price range in mind, and have you reached out in your family/friends to let them know the situation?

Well, I’m at least going to be getting some settlement money from my insurance, so that’s one silver lining in this situation. If worse comes to worst and I just can’t get money to add up, I’ll be able to afford a crappy used car to get around if needed. Or I could try and find a job in Seattle and take the horrible hour long ferry commute there and have leg day everyday.

I’d rather get something more reliable, though, because those options are kinda balls. So I’m looking into options for a new new car, or at least one that isn’t 12+ years old like this and my last car. Because I do not want to end up in this situation again anytime soon lol

I’ve been looking into a Kia, since their cars are relatively cheap, well-made, and tend to have pretty good warranties on them. (100,000 mile/10 yr on new new cars). We’ll see though.

As for family/friends, I already had to borrow money from family when my timing belt snapped and honestly I’d feel even more horrible if I had to ask for money again. Especially when they’ve got other financial stuff to worry about.

And my friend/roommate is driving me around for now, which is super inconvenient for both of us and I hate it. So... my situation could be worse, but it’s not the best, either. I’ll figure it out, though. Hopefully.

And here’s hoping your car situation improves as well. I’m sorry you’re having to go through car problems, too. IT SUUUUUUUCKS

Well, at least there's only a limited number to them, at least compared to TFs as a whole.

Yeah that’s definitely a fortunate thing. 

Where'd you stop? Because Drive actually has one of the better stories. The ending doesn't even feel like it's been editor'd to death

I didn’t stop because I was disinterested or didn’t like Drive, I just didn’t feel like keeping up with it weekly.

And that’s the best way to combat your landlord’s shit, making it clear that the damage hit you guys the worst.

Yeah, I don't enjoy weighing misfortune against misfortune, but in this case we're clearly looking at a chain reaction with our landlord at the top.
