Mulle Meck is a beloved piece of my (and many others) childhood, but as I played through "building houses" out of nostalgia a few years ago I realized something. The overarching plot of the last two games in the series, "building houses" and "exploring space", is to discover the fate of Mulle's old relative, Stella Stjärnströssel (Starsprinkles), finding that she went to space, settled for a time on Mars and then decided to go even further beyond into the great unknown beyond our solar system. Only 1 person remembers her and he's a man who's probably 70 and only knew her as a young boy. Assuming the games take place the same time they came out (2002-2004), she was doing all of this in the 1930s or 40s. This woman from a random village in northern Sweden has delved further into the final frontier than the forces of state and capital combined, at least a decade before Sputnik.
