This one’s for @pigeoninacoffeeshop! I pretty much love their endlessly adorable grifflet species, and decided hey, why not stat them up as a player race for tabletop? I took some liberties as far as size and features, so this might not be totally “canon”, but I like how consistent I could make them across the various systems. Here are the stats for them in three separate games:
Grifflet (Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition)
Ability Scores: +2 Dexterity, +2 Charisma or +2 Wisdom
Size: Small
Speed: 6 squares. Fly 5 squares. You cannot use this fly speed if you are carrying more than a normal load, and you must land at the end of your movement.
Vision: Low-light
Languages: Common, choice of one other
Skill Bonuses: +2 Acrobatics, +2 Perception
Avian Agility: You have the avian agility power.
Environmental Adaptation: Choose cold, fire, poison, or radiant. You gain resist 2 and a +5 racial bonus to saving throws against ongoing damage of the chosen type. The resistance increases to 5 at 11th level, and 8 at 21st level.
Heartstone: You have a heartstone, a minor magical trinket of intense personal significance. While you are wearing a heartstone, you gain a +1 racial bonus to Will. If your heartstone is lost or destroyed, you can create a new one during an extended rest using 5g worth of materials.
Pigeon-Hearted: Stealth is always a class skill for you.
Avian Agility, Grifflet Racial Power
Your small stature and natural reflexes makes you a particularly hard target to pin down.
Encounter
Free Action, Personal
Trigger: An enemy makes an attack roll against you
Effect: You gain a +3 bonus to all defenses against the triggering attack. If the attack misses, you can shift 1 square as a free action.

Type: Grifflets are Humanoid creatures with the grifflet subtype.
Size: Grifflets are Small creatures and thus gain a +1 size bonus to their AC, a +1 size bonus on attack rolls, a -1 penalty to their Combat Maneuver Bonus and Combat Maneuver Defense, and a +4 size bonus on Stealth checks.
Base Speed: Grifflets have a base speed of 30 feet.
Languages: Grifflets begin play speaking Common and Sylvan. Grifflets with high Intelligence scores can choose from the following: Auran, Draconic, Dwarven, Elven, Gnome, Goblin, Halfling, and Orc.
Flitting: Grifflets receive a +2 racial bonus on Reflex saving throws against spells and abilities with an area effect.
Feat and Skill Racial Traits
Avian Attributes: Grifflets receive a +4 racial bonus on Fly and Perception checks.
Heartstone Crafting: Grifflets receive a +2 racial bonus on Craft: Jewelry checks.
Natural Deftness: Acrobatics and Stealth are always class skills for grifflets.
Low-Light Vision: Grifflets can see twice as far as humans in conditions of dim light.
