For quite a while I was under the impression I was demiromantic, but I think my experience is more accurate with grayromantic because it emcompasses the complexity of my feelings; it covers all my nuances.
So I'm both graysexual & grayromantic. WOAH. I think the community calls this being a greyrose? πΉ
It's like... on the one hand I need some sort of connection with someone to feel something (demi) but that romantic attraction sometimes fluctuates (flux)? Some days it's more romantic and others it's more platonic. But I still have the desire to date and have a partner.
Having a million labels just doesn't work for me, though. I'd much rather use something that emcompasses the "sort of totality" of my experiences. Something I'm comfortable using because it's more fluid and represents me better than having to count how many check marks I did to fit in with the other labels.
It's so wild... I really want to make a game about this experience, at some point. Because I feel like my romantic orientation is even more confusing than my sexual orientation. I'm in my 30s & it's only recently that I think I managed to somewhat understand a little better what this means for me.
Orientations are quite intriguing, aren't they?
