I've been looking all over to try to find out what sort of clothing Daniel would be likely to wear in his free time. Like back at his apartment or out on a casual weekend daytime date. All the fashion info that I can find on menswear from that time period focuses solely on workwear/evening wear.

In a word: knits! We all know Sousa likes his sweatervests, and I think that slacks, sweaters, and collared shirts would be an obvious casual wear choice for him. Physically, he’s a very Cary Grant type, so check out these photos for inspiration:
