Greg is out in Annecy soaking up the sun and French ambience and being ambassador for short animation 365 which he made last year (with the tagline: One Year, One Film, One Second of Animation a Day).Â
Here he is speaking with the festival's Artistic Director Marcel Jean.
I'm not jealous at all of him being out in France beside an alpine lake at the best animation festival I know. No. Not jealous at all.
Greg collaborated with sound designer Tom Angell (of Goskino) on this animation. It follows the principle of the game 'consequences' that we used to play with our grandparents when we were children. In the original game you write a story together, without seeing what the other person has written. The end story is always a fascinating combination of strange, oblique, twists and turns, bizarrely unrelated, but which the brain somehow manages to recombine into a meaningful narrative.
In this animated version, Greg animated ten seconds, then gave it to Tom who created the sound for the ten seconds, then created ten seconds more sound for Greg to respond to in animation... and so on. We are currently working on a second one, which will also include a monologue contribution from myself.
