This charming green dress was spotted on the character of Peggy Bell in the 2009 𝑹𝒆𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝑪𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒅, played by Jodie Whittaker.   It was used in 2007 by Lisa Dillon as Mary Smith in 𝑪𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒅.   Its first known appearance was in the 2004 television miniseries 𝑵𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒉 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑺𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒉, where Isabel Pollen wore it as the Parson’s Wife.   Where do you think this costume originated? This green dress was used several times in the 1940s. It was first spotted on Virginia Welles as Jean Mitchell in the 1947 film 𝑳𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝑴𝒂𝒏.   The gown later appeared on Gail Russell and Veronica Lake in promotional shots for Paramount Pictures.   The costume went up for sale @Bonhams1793 in January 2020, where it sold for $1,275.
