"This is my most valuable treasure, more valuable than anything in the world". He pointed to the vault. "I don’t want anyone to steal it. It’s very important to me." Whenever his grandson asked, he would just say, "You will find out soon." When he became 21, his greed came out. Was it money? Gold? Diamonds? Whatever it is, he needs it. From now on, whenever his grandfather was absent, he immediately tried to open the vault - without success. He tried everything, but he just didn’t get it open. All codes he tried failed, all tools to break it open failed too.
One dreadful day, his grandfather died. He left him a letter with the words, “I think you are now mature enough for the content in the vault. The code is 2107.” The grandson’s birthday. Instead of being sad, he was excited to see what was behind the vault. He typed the numbers in excitedly - 2,1,0,7. Inside there were two pieces of paper. They read:
"No thief, however skillful, can rob one of knowledge, and that is why knowledge is the best and safest treasure to acquire.
― L. Frank Baum”
"Greed is a bottomless pit which exhausts the person in an endless effort to satisfy the need without ever reaching satisfaction.
—Erich Fromm”
