Hey! This is a teaser for a Grilliam fic I'm working on. It might take some time y'all, I hope work doesn't get in the way too much! WARNING! Grilliam (Grebble/Drilliam), nc-17 (well, this bit is totally pg, but the end result will be nc-17. I don't know how to write anything less dirty than that lol), florist au (sort of?). And that's it for now! Ready? ___________________________________ I knew it was a dream. The skies were clear, people out in the streets as if the world wasn't in chaos. I watched it all from the window of my shop - even in dreams, the old habits were hard to break. I wouldn't go outside. I tended my plants, spent hours marvelling at the delicate petals and vivid colours. I wondered if flowers ever really looked like this, smelled like this. Every now and then, someone would come in to buy something. They would tell me their story, if I asked, then purchase a potted plant or a bouquet, and leave. The pattern repeated, a computer-generated story that drew from my real-life experiences, and from the vast database that had been uploaded before we began our journey. Until him. It seemed a day like any other, taking care of the plants, making sure to water those who needed it, stopping to breathe their scent in deeply, stare at the patterns of petals. The little bell jingles, signaling a customer entering. Such a normal sound. I walked back to the counter, ready for the standard dialog, curious to hear today's story. But this time, they spoke before I was in place. "Er... Hello? Is there anyone here?" I was shocked. This was irregular. "H..Hi," I stammered. "I'm here", a little bit louder. The voice answered. "Oh, terrific! I could use some help, if you don't mind." I kept walking, curious to see this code-breaking character. As it happens, he had turned, and the first thing I saw was his back. A short, stout young man, hair charmingly unruly, and - could it be? A kerchief around his neck?
"Of course I don't mind! It's my job." He turned, and smiled shyly at me. His eyes... He started speaking, but it was all lost on me, as I stared deeply into the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen. Full of kindness, and intelligence. And slowly, as I watched, filling with concern.
