Once more from the top with feeling... The stoic determination of this first photo, while not terribly attractive, makes me feel strong and indomitable. Decked in hues of gray, I am embodying the mountain, the stalwart nature of the rocks, the mystery of the mists. If the summit of Mt. Pilchuck looks mostly like our weary but satisfied faces, it's because, frankly, that's about all we could see from there. Sharing this time, at the top of our current slice of the world, with the best of friends, was such satisfying soul food. As was copious amounts of nut butters, of which you can apparently consume an ungodly amount without getting sick after hiking up a mountain. One of the rare days on the trip that we were able to behold the majesty of the Cascade Range. Fitting that we were blessed with this bucolic glimpse on our way out of the mountains. Leisurely making our way to the next stop our journey, which included mostly pizza and beer and a wiley KOA agent of doom.
