It’s been a while since I uploaded some quality video game music so I’ve decided to share the first soundtrack I ever listened to while NOT playing the game itself.
For those of you not familiar with F-Zero, it was a massively addictive racing game which dropped way back in the year nineteen hundred and ninety, and became a smash success on the Super Nintendo. In the 25 years since its release, the graphics haven’t aged well, and the nostalgia has faded more than a bit, but the music, composed by Yumiko Kanki and Naoto Ishida, is still exemplary.
I used to listen this Soundtrack on CD (it was the medium which came before the MP3), and there’s no doubt I spent more time listening to the game’s music than actually playing the game itself. But there’s good reason for that... The tunes are killer. Don’t take my word for it though. Give the music a listen yourself... and enjoy one of the greatest video game soundtracks of all-time.
