                    It’s unlike Jean to go out of his way for someone else; much less when that someone is a neighbor and rival Quidditch player, but otherwise a near stranger.  He’s talked to Albus a few times, but he wouldn’t go so far as to say he knows him well. Certainly not well enough to be prying into Albus’ personal life ⎛ Jean hates when people do that very thing to him, and yet here he is.  ⎠  If it were one of his own teammates, that would be a different story because for Jean-–– who has no real family––- they are all there is.  Still, he’s standing here, in front of Albus Potter,  a rival player, who he’s only really spoken with in passing ⎛ and every single time, the interaction has been initiated by the other; Jean has never been the first to say hello ⎠ about to pry into his personal life.  His better judgment, were it working properly at this moment, would tell him to cut his losses, to get out, but before that better judgment can become too loud he hears himself saying,  ❝  I have noticed you’ve not been yourself, ❞  in his accent that’s a strange mix of French, North American, and Merlin Knows What Else.  He would stop there, but he’s already started, and he may not be the best at talking but he knows how these things are supposed to go.  ❝ Is-– is there anything I can do? ❞
