“c’mon-- who better to teach me than you?” ahmi pointed out, eyes fluttering, hoping kamlai would give in. “i just want to learn to skateboard-- it’s not rocket science. plus, i’d save so much on bus fare. please? i’ll make it worth your while!”

“guys, we literally have a dishwasher. stop leaving the spoons in the sink,” jungah called out into the apartment. she wasn’t surprised when she was met with silence-- she usually was. they were all adults, but why did she feel like she was the only real adult? the alpha adult, if you will. putting the spoons in the dishwasher herself, she sighed, walking over to the bedroom and poking her head in to see both of her girls laying together. “you two are literally the messiest people i have ever met in my fucking life. i’d hire a maid, but you’d probably scare her off.”

“it....won’t mean anything,” altea said, cheeks flushing as pink as her hair as she tried to backtrack. just in case they weren’t into her, she needed to cover her ass. “i just...i’ve never kissed anyone. neither have you. so let’s just...do it. get it over and done with.”

“okay but like.....i saw a theory yesterday that said the moon is a spaceship,” bae murmured thoughtfully, zoning out on her shoelaces. “like......it sounds stupid, but there was so much evidence to prove it. so if it is a spaceship and people live in it, do you think they know about dogs? because if i didn’t know about dogs, i don’t think life would be worth living.”

did it hurt when you fell from heaven? upon hearing the line, aphrodite froze a little. how did they know? had they clocked her? she’d hardly fallen from heaven– more come down to earth to have a good time and say hello– but though she was surprised, it was kind of a relief that there seemed to be someone who she could be 100% real with. “no, the trip was satisfactory. no discomfort. though, i’m not sure it’s a trip i’d like to make again– i very much like it here.”

“you’re tracking dirt and blood everywhere,” percy chided in a sing-song voice as her husband entered their home. it was late-- too late. persephone really should not have been awake at all, but she had an awful habit of waiting up for hades whenever he was out with his gang. she just liked to welcome him back, was all. it was nice for him-- a return to normalcy. and nice for her-- she didn’t have to go to sleep worrying. “i’ll make you something to drink and you can explain to me how that blood got everywhere. unless it’s yours. it better not be yours...”

“you know, maternity clothes shopping isn’t nearly as fun if you aren’t as invested as i am,” she murmured to her husband, looping her arm through his and looking up at him pointedly. “if this were just about comfort or whatever, i could wear a pillowcase for the next few months. you’re the one who’s gonna have to look at me in this, so you might as well pick out what you like.”
