21st century slang terms plus a planet with a very firm and abundant atompunk/raypunk aesthetic does not equal coherence.
Something I've found during all my rewatches is that despite being a tough military leader, Grawl is actually one of the characters with the most expressive faces, so this kind of meme format works perfectly for someone like him in terms of images that can be used LMAO.
Also, I'd just like to quickly clarify: I don't actually ship Chuck and Grawl myself - I merely took advantage of what felt like a spectacular meme opportunity, and I see them in this meme as just reacting to the online stuff they've come across. I can see the appeal in their ship (which is why I headcanon that Grawl is bisexual) but it's not for me, like the one for Neo and Smith in the Matrix fandom. Grawl is my P51 blorbo and I'm angling for an idea for his own paired fem OC.

Me: "Oh Grawl Honey, you're gonna be in so MUCH DEEP ASS TROUBLE."
Came across this information while looking through the art book for Planet 51 and it immediately dawned on me that Grawl is gonna get one hell of a smack down with the higher ups for letting years or quite possibly centuries worth of research with this highly advanced technology in Base 9 being destroyed all because he was hellbent on making sure the Alien (Chuck) didn't escape by planting so many bombs around the place. Not only that, there was probably highly advanced technology that they were experimenting with that could have helped them create a cure or curb stomp some diseases/illnesses on their home planet, but it literally goes up in flames. Yes technically, Lem was the one that pressed the button by accident causing the explosion, but Base 9 was under Grawl's supervision, care, and protection. Plus it was Grawl's idea to plant that much explosives inside Base 9 to begin with. Basically, Grawl will still get the blame and backlash from the higher ups. It would be interesting to see that if they ever do make a sequel to the film (keyword: if) that Grawl isn't a General anymore all because he blew up Base 9 thus destroying everything inside to the point he no longer is allowed to work for the military or any government level jobs and the only job in the movie he could get was a civilian level job. So, once again General Grawl is gonna get in so MUCH DEEP ASS TROUBLE with the higher ups or worse his home planet's government for evening allowing this to happen to Base 9 under his watch.

Been working on and off with this for a while, but the sketch is finally complete. This is for my friends Planet 51 AU of Kiki's Delivery Services where Grawl is Kiki, Chuck as Tombo, and Ripley as Jiji the black cat (Yes, Sigourney Weaver does voice her in the AU because it's very obvious 😂). I tried to make them look young because Kiki and Tombo are young teenagers in the movie thus making Grawl 13 years old and Chuck 14 years old. My friend does expand their AU where these two meet again in their mid-20s after being separated for so long after their dreams takes them on a different path where Chuck's aeronautics takes off (no pun intended) thus he has to move away and Grawl's one year of witch training comes to an end to which he has to return back home soon. Though I'm sure he does come back to the seaside town because his delivery service is such a hit amongst the townsfolk and he was making such wonderful friends. Yes, these two do get back together after being separated for so long and how much love & care they can give to one another.
Before I start inking and coloring, I'll have to transfer this on a clean piece of paper with my light pad because of that weird oil stain on the second image. Turns out I didn't realize the paper would absorb a little bit of the oil from the food I was eating while I was visiting one of my aunt's house 😅
Here’s another Grawl from a while ago, I’ll give you one chance to guess who’s got him so hot under the collar 😉
Anet has done a lovely job, giving small ambient dialogue moments for hearing about the Norn finally resettling their old homelands now that the dragon who plagued them for so long has finally been vanquished. Expeditions have gone out to scout the villages and rebuild, bodies are being buried, spirits and lands are being reclaimed. You can imagine the weakening strength of the Svanir, and those who regained their heads and are now helping. Braham's old squad, at least some of them, reuniting with him for a few drinks and to hear how he did it.
But what about the other races who finally saw the death of a creature that sparked generational trauma that's surely still affecting everyone who had to flee? What about the Kodan and the Asura and the Grawl? And the races who now felt the sting of these dragons branching into new territory from the war, the quaggan and humans and centaurs?
