Chateau La Garde 2012 from Pessac-Leognan. 9 year old as it still got a lot of devolping to do in the bottle. I think another 3-5 years before this starts come it's prime. Loads of big bold black fruit on the nose. Still a lot of acidity in the bottle, A good few hours decanting or maybe the night before. The tannins have mellowed well over the years and there was quite a bit of sediment from them falling out in the bottle. It reminds you off what a power grape Merlot can be on the left bank. When I was typing this I assumed it was a high Cabernet Sauvingnon and curriosity got the better of me so I had to go find the tasting note the blend but its was 52% and 48% Shows what I know I would have had this in the high 70s Cab Sav. I think as time goes on this will score a lot higher. I would say this will drink well in another 9 years. This is a Chateau with a lot of history. It out dates the Medoc classifications. Passing hands many times since 1732. I enjoyed this with a stake and it went amazing.
