- I did not expect the book to be as comical as it is so far, the fact that one of the first scenes is Ryland being so fucking disgruntled over the catheter in him is awesome

- the fact that he doesnt swear is really cute too. im listening thru audio and the narrators voice is kinda gruff so the juxtaposition is very nice

- HE CARES ABOUT HIS KIDS 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 HE CARES ABOUT HIS KIDDY STUDENTS SO MUCH 🥺🥺 the fact that caring about their future is what drove him to beg strat into letting him continue testing the astrophage makes me so emo

was reading a comic thru its character tags and the whole thing was skipping around a lot, which I thought was a very neat intentional choice to flip through the characters lives. until I realized the author didnt tag every page so I actually had been missing whole ass conversations and scenes .
