COUNTDOWN TO THANKSGIVING Dahil malapit na ang Thanksgiving, I am starting today thinking about things that I am grateful for. I woke up to a video message sent to me by Carlo. It was a video of my friends from The Manila String Machine playing a song I composed for our Creative Melody Writing Class with Mr. C, called “In the Key of C”. I was moved to tears, because I was reminded of how far we’ve come in terms or our friendship. I met Carlo and Ted back in college, Jake when we worked together in San Miguel Philharmonic Orchestra. So many things have happened in between. If I may borrow the words from Mr C’s, “Isang Taong Lumipas”, words by Joey Reyes: may tumaba, may pumayat, may nagtampuhan, may nakabati, may nagsama’t hiwalayan. We’ve known each other for more or less 20 years, and these guys have become brothers to me. Literal. Away-bati kami ng mga iyan. When we first started our group, I was the only girl. So for 10 years or so, sila lagi kong kasama, kaya ako macho at bugoy 🤣 lagi ko ba naman kasama mga lalaki. Haha (Come to think of it, ako nanaman ang only girl sa class.) Seriously guys, kahit nagbabangayan tayo, I hope you know and always remember how grateful I am that we are in each other’s lives; how grateful I am that you also chose me to be part of your children’s lives. (I am ninang to their kiddos) Thank you for bringing my music to life. *insert Miks, Jesper, Tristan Wala na akong masabi bukod sa walang hanggang pasasalamat! #thanksgiving #gratefulfridays #themanilastringmachine https://www.instagram.com/p/CWdpjxXrt5v6Q1YtB9QiAreIOtGQv_o161tXsA0/?utm_medium=tumblr
