How unusually tactile of Reinhard. I must applaud Tappei for something sneaky here too. The prose makes it very clear Reinhard knelt down to Flam’s lvl, grabbed her shoulders and looked into her eyes to comfort her.
In what is totallyyyyyy a coincidence I’m sure, Heinkel when Reinhard was younger did also pull this move of kneeling down to his lvl and gripping his shoulders when being gentle and comforting to him.
Reinhard is in the Felt Camp SS’s explictly shown to have a more parental relationship with the twins and was even the one whom helped raised them apparently.
This scene here coupled with that knowledge makes it seem Reinhard was channeling a lot of the parental Heinkel he idolized so dearly once upon a time to influence how he raised the twins.
