My professor canceled class because people’s final projects were flagged for using AI. I’m a bit concerned as this was a creative project which involves the same style I write in fics. I know my works have been scraped by different programs so I’m afraid that I’m “plagiarizing myself.” However, I don’t know if my script was flagged or not. I want to explain this to her, but I REALLY don’t want to have to reveal my ao3 username. I fucking hate AI and it would be super upsetting to be accused of using it. 😭
Me, explaining how DEs office hours go: Yeah so you go to his office hours with confusion--i.e. questions--and you do get your questions answered at some point, but he also says a lot of other things so you leave with new confusion.
My friend who is not at this university or studying math anymore: Wow this really is call of cthulu
(I relayed this story to one of my classmates who just nodded and made a vague sound of agreement.)
Is it morally acceptable to murder a professor who mansplains your own PhD thesis to you?

Someone asked a library worker what floor a subject was on while I was waiting for the (30) books I had on hold, and I answered without thinking. And I was correct. This may say bad things about my social life.

My love language is putting together google drive folders where I share all of my research resources, tenderly grouped into subfolders and featuring a perfectly formatted annotated bibliography. May or may not be putting one together rn after my friend expressed interest in medieval texts on magic and may or may not be in the process of uploading my high-quality scans of beautiful primary sources.
Me: Hey, PI, can we get a glovebox?
PI: We have a glovebox at home.
The glovebox at home:
Very interesting lichens! How do you find so many? :D
You can find the websites I use to find pictures of lichens under the "images: source" section of all my posts. I have a bunch of different websites I use, and a spreadsheet so I know which ones I've done. I use pictures that are under the creative commons copyright because I a) can't afford to go to all the places lichens are b) don't have the time c) don't have a good camera/am not good at photography, and d) am not trying to make money off of this site at all. Education only! I wish I could just travel around and take pictures of lichens and that could be my job but sadly that ain't where I am at in my life :( To make a post, I go to one of my favorite websites, browse around until I find a new lichen I feel like posting/has images available, and then google search it to find as much info as I can.
