nils hadnât really intended on coming to the partyâso much had ended so poorly last time, and considering he knew going in that their memories would be altered, he should have felt nervous and uncomfortable with the situation. but really, part of him loved the complete anonymity. the invitation had even insured otherworldly senses couldnât identify them. really, this was probably the safest he could be. so, he went, in a fancy suit he probably couldnât afford, and a bird mask because he was like that, and it had absolutely nothing to do with the clumsy, pretty blonde who had been haunting his thoughts lately. even if he knew he wouldnât recognize her under the spell, maybe once it was lifted . . . nils stepped into the room, and it was like a haze fell over him, like . . . a warm high. his gaze tracked around the room until it landed on someone he felt like he recognized. either way, she was dressed to the nines, his gaze appreciatively roaming up and down. a waiter passed by with flutes of champagne, and nils managed to take two. he walked over, sidling up to her with a glass held out. âi thought you might need this. canât imagine youâve gotten a moment of peace dressed like that.â ( @gracexbachmannâ )
