the first year, we made a mistake. then we made it again, only this time it was on purpose. then we forgot to stop making that on-purpose-mistake.

the second year, we stopped calling it a mistake. then we started scheduling it. we set up rules and secret words and pretended we only liked instead of loved.

the third year, we kissed for the first time again. it felt different. better. softer. before, it felt like something bad. now it felt like home.

this year, he was taken from me by a hellspawn playing at holiness. i’m going to find him. if neither of us come back, just know that we’re together. and that we’re right where we’re supposed to be.

sometimes he looks at me like i’m a curiosity. something to be studied. but part of me likes that, i think. some days, i wake up to find him looking at me, deep in thought - not in a... disturbing way, but as if he’s trying to figure me out, like a mathematical formula to be solved. i don’t know if he’ll ever really solve me, though. i don’t know if he’ll ever really want to.
