This is just an update on our cloth diapering journey.

Now that Jude is getting bigger, she fits in more of her diapers than before. Right now she is in:

3 medium gDiapers

2 Kawaii OS pocket diapers

3 size one Thirsties covers

1 CC Dipe OS pocket (this is WAHM diaper from etsy)

2 Flip covers

2 OS Charlie Banana pocket diapers

1 Bummis Super Whisper Wrap, size small

1 Bummis Super Lite, size small

As for inserts, she has:

1 Thirsties Hemp prefold

2 Flip overnight inserts

2 Kawaii CBI, size large

6 gDiaper cloth inserts

2 Packs of gDiaper disposable inserts

We also still use prefolds, but now I usually just trifold them and lay them in a cover. We have:

5 GMD newborn prefolds, orange edge

5 Better Fit newborn prefolds, purple edge

18 large white cotton prefolds, this were gifted to us but I don't know where they are from

12 medium unbleached cotton prefolds, again these were gifted and came with an extra flap of cotton sewn on. I have since removed that to make them fit better

At night I use the the Kawaii, the Flip, and the CC Dipe. I've found that these don't leak and I get the most use out of them. I've stopped using the Charlie Banana at night because they were always wet in the morning. I can use them during the day. The reason I use pockets at night because I feel like I get a better bang for my buck. Since I only have a handful, it would be wasteful to use during the day as I would only be able to use it for 2 hours max.

As for the gDiapers, I like them better than I thought I would. They are soft, and easy to change. My issue with them is that the outer part gets damp fairly quickly and if she poops I have the change the insert AND the pouch. None of this is really a big deal. I do like the disposable inserts for traveling, they really came in handy. I have about 13 pouches so I can usually get through a day with just one gPant since I use prefold as inserts in them as well.

I like the Flip covers for night and day. As long as she hasn't made a messy poop, I can get a few uses out of the cover after she wear it to bed. The inserts do get heavy by morning but her skin is never damp and neither is her clothes.

A couple of weeks ago I saw that gNappieswere looking for reviewers for their reusable nappies.  I have been wanting to try them out with Little Miss A for quite a while but didn’t really know where to start.  There are so many different types to choose…

Today we went to one of our cloth diapering stores (eco-POLITAN) and bought 12 prefolds! 

I plan to use them with her gPants instead of the gCloths and gRefills. I'm so excited to try this new method. I'm not thrilled with having to use the diaper pin, but I'm sure I'll get used to it :) If not I can go back and try to get the little thing they make especially for cloth diapers, but the sales women didn't recommend it because you can catch such a small baby's sensitive skin. Who knows!

We still won't be cloth diapering for outtings and overnights. Going out to buy Pampers in newborn size was getting on my last nerve, so I'm glad I have this option. We still have a mess of size 1's and 2's and even a package of 3's in the closet in her room. I'm fine with not being exclusively cloth, but I will be excited to be mostly cloth pretty soon :)

I have 6 gPants and 12 prefolds  (and 12 gLiners) so that won't get her through 2 days, but I want to make sure this works before I invest more into this. I'm sure if this doesn't work out I can find another option for the prefolds.

Best Bottoms was actually my second choice when I picked the gPants so I think I'm going to give them a try tomorrow. A local store carries them and it sounds like I can also use the gRefills with them so we would be saving money there. Also because the outside isn't cloth if she does leak away from this insert it isn't staining the cloth portion like it does in the gPants.
