RE/100 RX-78 GP04G Gerbera 'Mayfly' Finally built one of my birthday presents from my amazing friends! I have to say, I really enjoyed this kit - the RE/100 line seems to be really well made. I love the big, bulky parts and everything just fit together so well. It's a funny story, I told myself that I wasn't even going to paint this kit, because I loved the colors so much, and that I'd just panel line and topcoat it. Well...I wound up purchasing some Alclad II Chrome and Gloss Black Base and decided that this would be a good opportunity to test out chroming! I thought that it'd make for some really nice accent work on the stabilizers and the vents/verniers. I'm exceptionally pleased with the results, and I hope you are too! As some of you know, the RX-78GP04G Gundam "Gerbera" is a prototype in the Gundam Development Project, which never actually appeared in its 'Gundam' form. The half-completed prototype is later acquired by the Delaz Fleet from Anaheim Electronics and developed into the AGX-04 Gerbera Tetra, for the lovely Cima Garahau. So in a way, this is the Gundam that never was... I decided to pay homage to my favorite female Gundam character, Cima Garahau (also known as the Mayfly of Space), by painting up the shield in tiger stripes - a reference to her tiger-print throw that she sits on in Gundam 0083 Stardust Memory - see reference here: So yeah! Really fun build with some my little stamp on it. Enjoy! Want to see WIP pictures and even more photos? Check me out on social media!
