As distinctive as he tended to look most of the time, the heavy coat that he’d worn to the party was doing a good job of flattening his wings out. The idea of anonymity was pretty difficult considering his mutation but he’d managed it. He barely looked like a human when he was covered up, let alone like himself, but it definitely made him look like everyone else.

A kiss on his stomach wasn’t where he’d expected this to go. It was a pretty forward move and he couldn’t help for his hand to go to the fairly short hair of the other. He felt his mask being moved, and in the darkness of the closet it was okay. He hadn’t expected to hear his name after he was kissed. He hadn’t thought it would be that obvious that it was him.

ⓧ  - This captor, one of Doop’s current targets, was very cunning.  Much more tricky than the average foe, it seemed like Doop’s arrival had been anticipated.  And he had quickly been subdued and locked away in this cage buried deep in the underground floor of the other’s castle.  Some time later, this blond haired man had been thrown in with him.

He had traveled in between the margins in order to get to this universe, but something about the boy’s outfit seemed familiar to him. Almost like an X-Men outfit.  But figuring that out was for a later time.  Instead, he watched quietly as the overweight captor, grinning confidently while his two buffed guards stood at either side of him, armed with axes which had Doop’s green blood dried on the blades from their battle an hour before.

“This cage is equipped with electrical circuits that are heat-activated.  If anything touches them, then the circuits inside the bars activate, electrocuting it with over 200,000 volts of electricity.”

As if to prove his point, a mouse attempted to scurry inside the cage, but a bright light flashed at the point of access, and the smell of burnt flesh now filled the cage.

As their captor left with his armed guards, telling them to sit outside to make sure no one came in or out, the two were left alone, Doop’s eyes staring at the smoking corpse of the mouse.

Warren smiled a little sadly as he looked at Evan. He knew that they didn’t get all of the opportunity to be a normal couple as much as others could be. It was partly just because of their position in the X-Men, but probably more just to do with his worries over his family than anything else.

“Well, hello to you too,” Warren chuckled, forcing a smile on his face again for the duration of this sentence. He was used to this kind of lighthearted joked from Evan now. It did make him happier to be around the other like this, but it couldn’t change his mood completely.

Sometimes it felt a lot like photographers crowded around him like nobody's business. Having lenses shoved in your face while you were trying to warm up and get your head in the game was not something easy. He should be used to it by now, he supposed, but he still had his eyes glued to the floor and his headphones in until his coach told him that he needed to be on the ice.

People tended to take that one of two ways. Some people understood that it was just for his concentration and that he needed to be fully in the game when he was on the ice to throw the performance of his life every time. The other type of people were the ones who said his silence was arrogance and that everything else was all show.

“Pillow forts are always the best idea. I’ll get my chairs and bedding.” His bedding was pretty good quality and sized and he hoped that it would be the best for making a good fort that both of them could fit into.

“Uh… well, I’d say so long as they get the money, they’d be happy to do anything. I’m sure it’d be like a day off for them, anyways— and it’d be one hell of an experience, that’s for sure.”
