Where is it?

Her hand was scrambling around in the dark, the bloody stump she currently had for a leg throbbing, and a steady stream of tears that was rolling down her cheeks refusing to leave.

Her remaining eye clenched shut, grinding her teeth as she tried to ignore the dirt and gravel that stung the open wound.

I heard them throw it in here, it’s got to be here…

She felt something warm at her finger tips, and she let out a shaky sigh of relief, bringing her severed limb towards her.

Thankfully, she didn’t need the light to try and put this one back together. It had literally been   pulled from her body today, so the bone and flesh were fairly intact. She had done this so many times now, and it was starting to become second nature to her as she joined the stump and severed limb together, giving a grunt as her regeneration abilities as a vampire came into effect.

Her palms rested on the pavement, heavy breathing echoing through the cell she had been left in for the night until they came to collect her again the next day. At least they were reliable in that sense, unlike….

She paused, dwelling on that thought for a moment.

Wait, how long had it been again? Must have been a few months now, she would guess, at the very least. A few months which she had miserably spent being tortured in way even her own twisted mind couldn’t have imagined. Every day she had fought just to stay alive, thinking that if she just held out for another few hours, the vampiric battalion she had joined would come to save her.

The truth was hitting her chest like a ton of bricks, leaving a sour taste in her mouth.

They’ve left me behind. No one’s coming.

So what was she to do? Just continue to endure all of this? The pain that had made her wish for death time and time again? The sleepless nights that were not spent in peace, but rather paranoia at every waking moment? 

No. 

She didn’t want to do this anymore.

Gritting her teeth, tears running down bruised cheeks, she reached for her neck, beginning to starch at the skin’s surface. It was hesitant at first only leaving red and white marks. Then, she began to claw more viciously, letting out a cry of rage and desperation as she felt blood begin to cake underneath her fingernails.

But nothing happened. No matter how hard she tried to tear out her own throat, the skin would simply heal back over, her own powers of regeneration working against her.

She let out a scream of frustration, banging her fist against the ground below her like a child throwing a tantrum.

"No…no,no,no,no, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO!! F-fuck! C-come on! Just let me die! Just let me die! I DON’T WANT TO DO THIS ANYMORE, JUST LET ME DIE!!”
