Have you ever taken a mental health day from work? I didn't even know they existed on paper until last week when a client mentioned she was taking one. Sometimes we need a mental health day. It's great that some Government Departments and companies have made it part of the benefits for their workers. My client was telling me that they're allowed five mental health days each year. They don't need a Dr's note or have to explain what they did. It's just there if they need it. We all need this right! Sometimes we're just having an off day or don't feel like going into work. I know I don't feel like going to work somedays but I do because nothing will get done if I don't. I am sure this resonates with many of you especially those who own their own business or if you're at the top of the corporate chain. But think about this, a mental health day is just as important as a sick day. When you are sick you have a virus and have a sick day. But when you are mentally unwell and push through it can be devastating and cost much more in the long run. Did you know that one in five Australian employees have taken time off work because they have felt mentally unwell. It's a bit of an eye opener. And definitely something to look into if you don't know what your benefits are at work. It's even more important if you are a CEO or Executive and you push through the mental pain of being at the top. But think about this, a mental health day is just as important as a sick day. When you are sick you have a virus and have a sick day. But when you are mentally unwell and push through it can be devastating and cost more in the long run. I you need to take some time our for your mental health, find out what your rights are and do it. Your health will thank you for it in the future. . . . #health #motivation #mentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthawareness #takecareofyourself #holistichealth #holistic #inspiration #gotitall
