A sterling silver and silver gilt fish platter made by Gorham in Providence. This piece is 17 inches long and was made around 1880.

We have this pair of 1870s servers with a fabulous floral design that has been acid etched into the surface. They are in the ‘Knickerbocker’ pattern and feature flowers like bluebells and morning glory. Originally they were a jam spoon and master butter knife but, perhaps would find more use serving cheese and dips. They are by the American silversmith Gorham and are a rare and desirable pattern, with some serving pieces selling in the thousands of dollars.
