Gorgonopsids were a group of prehistoric carnivorous animals that lived in the Permian period, before the arrival of dinosaurs. They were neither truly mammals nor reptiles, but almost a bit of both; they laid eggs like reptiles, but their blood was warm, and legs positioned more vertically beneath the body like a mammal.
