L&O:CI 7x11 "Purgatory"
Bobby: Eames, I’m sorry
Alex: That’s all you have to say to me? I could have blown your head off back there. Eight years I’ve had your back and I don’t even get the courtesy of a phone call.
Bobby: I was trying to protect you.
Alex: Since when?
Bobby: And there were rules…
Alex: Rules? [chuckles sarcastically] You gotta be kidding me. You managed to get word to the captain, you contacted the chief of D’s but just not your partner?
Bobby: This is my only way back. I mean … how else am I gonna get my shield? You’re not getting it.
Alex: I get it! I get it. You are the genius and I just carry your water, right? Do you have any idea how many times I’ve lied for you, covered your ass?
Bobby: I was in a deep hole here…
Alex: And whose fault was that? All your wounds are self inflicted.
Bobby: You know, I tried not to drag you into this.
Alex: And what would you have done if I hadn’t burst through that door? If it wasn’t me, you’d be dead.
Bobby: [breathing, searching for words] I didn’t look for this.
Alex: You could have fooled me detective. I hope it was worth it.

The Episode is called

just like the Sinatra song.
The case was interesting, suspenseful but it wasn’t the case which made this episode so much better.
A prominent judge is convicted for raping an underaged girl. He thinks his only way out is to personally get to the detectives investigating his case.
His lawyer pays a visit to Bobby‘s schizophrenic mother to get information on Bobby and his relationship with his father. (Spoiler Alert, no Nicole Wallace in this episode)
His lawyer also pulls out a letter while questioning Alex Eams as a witness on the stand. A letter she herself had written to the comissioner when sge first started working with Bobby. She asked to be assigned a new partner.
She was made to read her own words out loud with Bobby in the room. Her heart broke. In the end, she had withdrawn the letter back then.
Bobby knew and said: Lucky for me you withdrew the letter.
My heart melted.
When your lonely heart has learned its lesson You‘d be hers if only she would call In the wee small hours of the morning That's the time you miss her most of all.
Season 7 Episode 22
“Frame“
Alternate Ending:
Declan: “You should be thanking me. You are freed now. Freed from the shackles put on you by your junkie brother. Constant worries, constant anger. And Nicole, you won‘t miss her. There are other pretty girls around aren’t there Bobby? You got her in the end — even if I had to help out a little. But don’t worry, one day the student will outgrow the master and that day will come.“
Declan‘s words pierced like a sword through Bobby‘s stomach. He sat opposite his former mentor in the interrogation room. His back was hunched and with every word leaving Declan’s lips Bobby got smaller. He couldn’t form a single word to defend himself. He clammed his fists trying not to burst into tears. Alex and the Boss vigilantly observed the spectacle from behind the mirror. Why was he still in there with him? Declan had basically confessed to the murder of Nicole Wallace and to pulling the strings killing Bobby‘s brother. Why was Bobby still letting this nut case bait him like that. Alex wasn’t sure how much longer she could take it.
“The only thing I can‘t help you with is your father. Your biological father that is. But you know the statistics about serial killers and their offspring. I am confident this situation will sort itself out sooner or later. Wouldn’t you agree Bobby?“ Declan kept rambling as if in one of his lectures, passionately waving his hands through the air.
Alex observed Bobby‘s head hanging lower and lower. “That‘s it.“ she decided and stormed out the door. A split second later she appeared on the other side of the mirror followed by two officers in blue. “Declan Gage, you are under arrest for the murder of Nicole Wallace as well as conspiring to murder of Frank Goren. You have the right to remain silent, and I hope you finally use it.“ Alex violently grabbed his arm and pulled him up from his chair. She twisted both of the old mans hands behind his back and cuffed them. She then roughly pushed him towards the officers who walked him out of the room. Bobby hadn’t moved an inch, he still sat on the other side of the table staring at his folded hands. Alex approached him leaning to the table reaching out for his hands. She squeezed them tenderly. Bobby looked up to her, the angles of his mouth arched downward, his eyes red and swollen.
“Don’t you believe a word he says.“ Alex urged. Bobby sniffed, looking down again. “You are not going to end up like these men, do you understand. Not as long as I‘m here, and I tend to stay a while.“ she assured him, gently rubbing his hand. A tear started tickling down Bobby‘s cheek. He wanted to believe er so badly. He wanted to tell her she was right and that he knew it, that she had been right from the start. He wanted to grab her hand as well, pull her towards him and just hold her for all eternity, but he couldn’t. All he wanted to see were Alex‘ eyes. All he wanted to feel was Alex‘ breath on his skin, but although she was right in front of him, his mind only repeated Declan’s words over and over. Brady‘s face was dancing around him like Rumplestilzkin circling the fire. He knew better than just rise up and leave. For Alex‘ sake but also for his own, but old habits die hard. He rose from his chair slowly detaching his hand from Alex‘. He looked deep into her brown eyes, wishing she could read his mind, wishing she could understand his aloofness hadn’t anything to do with her. That it was him and him only. He mumbled a thank you barely audible and left, leaving Alex staring into her own mirror image wondering why she was still here, wondering why she was still so in love with him.

“Untethered“
Plot Twist:
Goren leaves the arcade and wanders around times square looking for his nephew Donnie. He finally gives up. He won’t find him if he doesn’t want to be found. He takes his mothers engagement ring out of his pocket. He turns it in his hand, clutches it fast and calls a cab. His brothers words still echoing in the back of his mind: “Take Eames to a motel and get it out of your system!“ How dare he mention her? 15 minutes later the cab pulls up in front of Alex‘ apartement, Bobby walks up to her door. He hesitates, finally knocks after all. Alex opens the door in her nightgown, yawning. It‘s three am. Bobby looks at her, his big brown eyes glimmering from past struggles and insomnia. He nervously shifts from one foot to the other “I‘m sorry, Alex.“ he breaks down crying. She catches him. He bends down burying his face into her shoulder.
