Art & Hue presents 1970s Cops http://artandhue.com/cops Stylish pop art illustrations of iconic Seventies police detectives, available in three sizes and 25 colour options, including Lewis Collins. Fast talking, thinking, and driving, 1970s cops leapt into action at a momentâs notice, catching bad guys unawares and foiling plots with skidding cars and a cocky swagger. With a natural swagger and easy charisma, at one point Collins was widely tipped to replace Roger Moore as James Bond. It does seem that the tonal shift of âFor Your Eyes Onlyâ was written with Lewis in mind, but Collins was not cast as 007 and instead went on to film âWho Dares Winsâ, a successful action film which co-starred Edward Woodward. Famous as Willian Bodie in âThe Professionalsâ, it seems appropriate that Lewis Collinsâ first and last credits were in police dramas. Collinsâ first appearance was in âZ Carsâ in 1974 and his final acting role was in âThe Billâ in 2002, both long-running British police serials. Collins also played a Police Constable in âCrown Courtâ. Before âThe New Avengersâ, Collins worked with Joanna Lumley in âThe Cuckoo Waltzâ, the 1970s sitcom in which he played a lodger. In 1988, Collins worked with Michael Caine in âJack the Ripperâ as another policeman, Sergeant Godley, and later appeared in a series of âCluedoâ, but acting work didnât come easy for some reason. A reboot in 1997 called âCI5:The New Professionalsâ almost cast Lewis as the head of the organisation, a role similar to Gordon Jacksonâs George Cowley, but the part eventually went to Edward Woodward. Retiring from acting, Lewis moved to America but returned to England before his passing in 2013. An underused actor whose innate talent never seemed to escape the shadow of Bodie, the ongoing popularity and success of âThe Professionalsâ is a testament to the actor and his powerful yet natural screen partnership with Martin Shaw. #TheProfessionals #LewisCollins #MartinShaw #GordonJackson #Seventies #Cops #CultTV #RayDoyle #WilliamBodie #BodieAndDoyle #interiorinspo #interiors123 #interiors #homedecor #thehappynow #paradiseofminimal #nothingisordinary #Retro https://www.instagram.com/p/BpgtWYSgTZX/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=wst1hzccxu6s
