It was a green and yellow day today at CRT FarmFest, getting ready for opening next Tuesday to Thursday, 5-7 June... the green tractors are lining up on display, the yellow Hercules wheel loader has already been put to work spreading woodchip, and ‘The Ringer’ from Leichts CIA cattle crushes is ready to go to work weighing cattle for the beef cattle show and judging in the Livestock area. These are among the last cattle crushes still manufactured in Australia (and from Australian steel) and they are a local success story, being built in the factory at Goombungee, near Toowoomba. They’ve been going since 1984, employ 42 people and are so popular, there are 500 units on back-order. So, whilst its looking dry, beef producers are still spending up on cattle equipment, with safety and productivity in mind - the dogged Australian spirit! And you can see the crushes on both the CRT and Landmark sites next week!
