Google Talk Plugin 2.6.1.5251 Installed but not picked up by Chrome

After installing GoogleVoiceAndVideoSetup.exe, Chrome still tells me to install the plugin when I visit a Google+ Hangout or try to use Gmail video chat.

I have even uninstalled the plugin from the Control Panel’s Programs and Features, and then re-installed it again, and I’ve even tried restarting my system.
