“Society is simply an agreement of gross life interest, vulnerable to any addiction.”
Today is 11 July 2020 on the imperial time tracking system, in America confusion of words is plaguing oh the people call this place home. As a member of the society I can tell that this state of uncertainty has no end; just more versions to come. In the 1700s, the men that wrote the rules for the place we call America, had no idea the impact “freedom of speech” bestowed unto the people would have today. Ignorance is seen as a negative term by most people in my opinion due to our inability to except that we don’t know certain things. All of our experiences will be different no matter how much we attempt to live the same. I never write things to create any sense of depression or lack of hope, I really aim for the rational perspective of any topic I approach.
When I was a kid, I remember all the adults around me saying I needed to read the paper. This was no interest of mine. A large scale piece of weird paper with a bunch of black words I know, with an off white background; boring. Until recently I never really thought back to those days. Lately I’ve been consumed with figuring out how social media is affecting my mental strength. The only way to explore this was to control the outside world so my inner mind could redirect the energy consumed by this distraction. I frequent 3 major platforms, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. Control, delete them all from my reach. Waiting other people I’ve realized that today we have developed problem for our brain to adjust to. Some of us have an abduction to electronic media. Like most addictions we don’t need media to survive but it satisfies a need created by technological advancements in a way of availability.
Shifting into our structure of society, we now know that information reconvened via our addiction to digital media is shaping our character and directly affecting our moral compass. “Communication is everything and everything is communication”, according to a recent class my wife was taking, and they’re re absolutely right! Imagine the information as food, and the mind as the body. Feeding the body is something we must do to stay healthy, but what if food addiction is part of the scenario? One might say “control that addiction by controlling the food!”, easy enough right? With food eventually the physical capacity will kick in and cause you to take a break between feeding our maybe food won’t be available. Now imagine you needed food for entertainment, communication, education and even emergencies. If that were the case society would eventually find a way for you to carry food with you all the time. Well let’s call this development an app. If you before you’re bond to find it in an app. Well know app’s have also been developed for foods you just like but don’t need. What’ll stop you from over consuming if you don’t feel the pain of over consumption, mixing bad combinations or eating to much of one thing. From the inside out you will die brain first. Your mind is truly a sponge, much like the body you must put in what you want out of it. Try deleting the apps from your devices, besides you have your life to live remember!
