Yep. Totally agree. Great ideas and concepts. Terrible execution of those great ideas and concepts. But also they dropped a lot of ideas and concepts that would have actually worked much better for the story of it.

I know it happened but we never really saw any of it. We don’t know how she developed or improved to get to the final result of activating all the Potential Slayers. We can only assume and interpret - which okay, yeah I have no problem with interpretation. I very much prefer it to canon. But I still need something to anchor on to with which to do that and Season 7 didn’t have any room for that because of all the time wasted on the Potentials. And that’s just one character’s arc. I could go on to all the other main or recurring characters with this but I think my point was already clearly stated in the video.

Compare this to Season 5 (arguably the best season) with its tight, clever almost rhythmic storytelling and Season 7 didn’t stand a chance of concluding BUFFY satisfyingly beyond the fact she was no longer alone.
We got what we wanted out of it but it was still a mess. It could have been done so much better had both their heads and hearts been in it. But they were all just done.
And you can’t blame them. You really can’t.

My sisters are watching Descendants 4 and I’ve finally determined my opinion on it.
It’s a very cool concept; the characters, relationships, and plot fit well together, but plot consistency wise it’s very bad.
The movie feels more like ever after high’s take on fairy tales than Descendants’ take.
However,,, if they went back in time and their parents were playing out their stories- slightly altered to fit Cinderella and red’s mom being friends and that whole drama- it would fit the universe better.
