Election for the next term is nearly approaching. Most of us aren’t yet allowed to vote for our chosen candidates. But, as college pharmacy students, we have the rights to pick the right persons we think, are worthy to be elected. This is a sign of love for our country; showing care and awareness of what is happening in the community we belong. It was difficult for us to pick the best because we don’t have enough knowledge in terms of politics, that’s why we gathered information regarding the candidates for presidency in 2016, and decided to support our chosen candidate. Who is Miriam Santiago? A Doctor of Juridical Science, Doctor of Laws, Doctor of Humane Letters and many more. She worked in the government and handled many divisions, won many awards. She is considered the Iron fist of the Philippines, handled many cases in the senate, and strongly against corruption. She’s the best presidential candidate in the Philippines in terms of education and experience. Because of her education background, she is fit for being the President of the Republic of the Philippines.

People are holding back on their decision to vote her as the President, they said she may not have a good health and stamina to be a President because she was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer previously. She supported Marcos’ Martial law, and chose Bongbong Marcos as her Vice Presidential running mate.

In our opinion, she’s the most suitable presidential candidate to be the next President of the Philippines; she was close on winning the presidential election back on 1992 versus Fidel V. Ramos. She has the best educational background; the only obstruction was really her health, nothing more. She’s credible and brave enough to fight for the rights of the Filipino people. We go for Mariam Defensor Santiago as the next President of the Republic of the Philippines!
