Naturally I would be delighted and tickled pink if the Mangawhai Heads Golf Club invited me to play a few rounds, check it out and reassess my memory...ooopps, I meant comment. The ground layout leans to a mix of long thin and wide fairways...great for long distance shots when you just want to whack the ball into oblivion. Because of the history of the Club, don't assume everyone sneaking in an out of clumps of bush's and going behind trees, is going there to discreetly pee.

A good friend pointed out I was only telling a sanitized version about life in Mangawhai, New Zealand...so..*rolls up sleeves and rewrites post about Golf* Mangawhai Heads Golf Course..beautiful setting, lots of trees and healthy native bush. Years ago unemployed locals were employed under a labour scheme to help landscape the golf course. On the day the grand ceremony recognising the workers efforts was due to be held, a wandering councillor stumbled onto a track slashed in the bush, which led to a REALLY nice marijuana plantation. The workers had been busy...was bloody good pot to....lol. Mangawhai Heads Golf Course...it really WAS created by stoners!!
