While I optimistically feel the lads will be in the finals mix in Season 2022, I'll always cringe everytime I see them run out in their current guernsey/jersey design. They have a pretty sweet team colour palette to work with, I'd argue one of the best in the League, so why have they settled for one of the most boring strips in the comp?

I decided to have a tinker and came up with the following:

A little old, a little new. Some negative space, and a touch of blue...

Yup, I took the best bit of their current logo, the "SUNS" wordmark, used it to frame (with negative space) a full circle "sun" which has a siloutetted set of AFL goals puching through on a curved horizon line.

Add in a gorgeous complimentary "ocean" blue and voila! What do you think?

Alternate strips

Does this design work for an alternate colour design and for other considerations such as a predominently white "clash" strip? Of course it does!

...and what happens when retro-round comes around? You break out the 80's "Miami" vibes of course!

Despite the Suns going down to the Demons in their clash in Sydney this evening, Rankine chipped in with an outstanding 3 goasls on debut - the first one being an absolute ripper that will be sure to feature in the "Goals of the Round".

To honour the young lads efforts in his first AFL game, I put this mobile wallpaper together for any fans to throw up on their iPhone or Android screens.
