I was in a conversation with a couple of young ladies and we were talking about the world of dating.  I used the term how in my high school days we'd use the phrase "Going Together".  I got blank stares and the question, "What does that mean?"  I was surprised.  I told them that meant we were in an exclusive relationship.  I asked what was the term they used today to let others know they were a couple.  They said "Dating", "We've been together for ...." or "Seeing each other for....".  I know some years have passed, when I was in high school Century 21 was only 18, but  I was shocked by how the term "Going Together" is a thing of the past.  I had one of the women state how she assumed the girls from my high school years were probably really straight-laced and uptight.  I said they'd be surprised.   No matter when you went to school theirs always some girls that  I think the Birds and the Bees tell their kids about.  I say teenagers today are the same as we were growing up.  They have more distractions and are perhaps because of cable TV a little more worldly but in so many ways their the same as we were.  But we never colored our hair green or purple.  Fashion has changed some.  My daughter and I spotted this lady in a see-thru blouse yesterday.  I told my kid how I should get a see-through outfit.  My daughter shot back, "Dad, no one would want to see thru yours."  Children are certainly sassier today.
