The Word of God Some people emphasize the idea of "transcending the ego" to get closer to God. But to me, such an effort would take a stand *against* God. If you believe God created the world - and that God is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnibenevolent - then you must believe God created nature exactly the way He intended to. We are incapable of understanding the universe without structures through which to explore it - and language is one such structure. So any study of religion, archetypes, or symbols may provide a helpful path to God. But if we simply observe nature - the word of God is right there. If God wanted us to have no ego, then God would have given us no ego. We were given an ego for a reason - because it serves a purpose. Our defenses exist to protect us from absolute openness to abuse, psychic energy, and chaos. They provide a psychic structure that we depend on to survive and thrive on this planet. Nature speaks for itself. Nature is God's work, directly. And our nature speaks for itself.

SUNDAY MATINEE MUSIC VIDEO: “Keep Sharing the Crayons”— This is a passion piece inspired by my experiences with fellowship and cooperation amongst eclectic people—“The Grand Company, No more missing harmony.” Everyone—black, white, brown, old, young, big, small—brings something to this big table called life, and it’s God’s gift to be handed even the tiniest role in this Kingdom called Earth. The line “And you know the difference, it won’t wash away…” was inspired by the sidewalk chalk art scene in the 60s film “Mary Poppins.”
The music bed is influenced by the 80s synth-pop band New Musik, even though I went into a scruffier sound than what Tony Mansfield might’ve done. Shout outs to protest sign-makers everywhere.
