At this point, All Expenses Paid has turned into a full-on high fantasy war drama called Out of the Maw. I'm going to hold onto that for longer and slowly work on it. Meanwhile Godhunt hasn't changed, at least plotwise. Most of the rewrites require fleshing out the setting and some of the characters. I do want to finish that one fairly quickly, and get it ready to release next year.

Getaway From Hope's Ridge exists in a more contained universe, and takes place over the course of one night. I'm still aiming for a Halloween release on this year. If not, then I'll swap to my mage x drider smut.

Regarding my new works:

Neon Blood is a NBxTM vampire political drama between the tattoo artist Oleander and the vampire prince Beryl.

Blueshift is a high heat MxM spacepunk action adventure romance between the racer Vespera and the robot Alix.

Deeproot Desires is a high heat gay adventure orgy between the disgraced knight Ursine and the monsters and adventurers in the Deeproot Dungeon.

The "plan," right now, is to leave Godhunt and AEP up on Ream until I have everything. That hasn't changed. But I might start working on/posting Blueshift and Deeproot just so I have something running on Ream until Getaway comes out. Neon Blood is longer and more invested than the rest of them, so that one will take more time.

Godhunt and Out of the Maw will slowly be worked on in the background, and hopefully I can resume those at the end of the year.

As for my short stories, nothing has changed:

Rain Check: NBxM high heat oneshot between my mage Vailintin and a slime they find in the forest.

Warm Buns: TFxF sweet heat oneshot for the TransQueer Jam, between a baker that has a crush on her boss.

Rock the Boat: gay fantasy orgy between an elf and a boat full of monsters.

This leads me to a situation where I can't work on anything because I still need to untangle the furled mess of my current books. And that's causing a traffic jam for the stories--four full books and three short stories--in my brain.

But I know if I shelve Godhunt and All Expenses Paid and work on something else, my ADHD brain will forget that they're there, and they will die in obscurity.

17. ...Is seen as childish by their peers

In Godhunt, Charlotte Thorn is seen as cute and coquettish by the adults in her circle. But after the death of her friend Alice's father, an incident that deeply affects Charlotte given her mother's own tragic passing, she withdraws and becomes irritable.

This is only further exacerbated by Charlotte's father's rapid engagement to Harietta Keating, which was announced at a party that Charlotte had hosted and planned herself. She's gradually being pushed out of her own life, and any attempts to defend it are met with scorn and derision.

Her older brother Adrian is no help at all, as he's currently chasing Alice's skirt. Charlotte is aware of her brother's proclivity to chase after emotionally dependent woman who have just gone through a tragedy or are on the outskirts of society, and she's trying to defend Alice.

The only people in Charlotte's court are her friend Jane Farberry, who she's known since childhood, and Harietta Keating's outcast daughter Lucy. She was previously the victim of Adrian's odious attentions, but she's recently been pushing back on Adrian and her overbearing mother.

I can't for the life of me remember if I've heard of Godhunt before, do you mind sharing a bit about it, and maybe your favourite character from it?

I haven't talked about Godhunt because I haven't done anything with it since...February-March, whoops!

Godhunt is a gothic horror mystery, set in the small town of Foxton. It's a pseudo-historical setting akin to a New England town in the late Regency/early Victorian era. The main character (and also my favorite) is Louis Keating; a local baker, closeted trans man, and ball of anxiety.

Foxton is a wealthy town under the worship of the Light Above; a strict doctrine that has recently banned bonfires under the claim that the lack of recent rainfall puts them at increased risk for wildfires.

In actuality, this is an attempt to stamp out the practice of the heathen Flower Dance, which honors the Holly-Crowned One; god of the hunt and the forest. The recent banning of mead, a traditional offering, was also an attempt at stamping out their worship.

While the Holly-Crowned One makes moves to punish Foxton for their impudence, Louis struggles with his new gender identity, his overbearing mother's upcoming wedding, and attention from the odious Adrian Thorn.
